The boards are Medium Density Overlay Panels (MDO). MDO is a paintable surface made of high-quality plywood with a weather-resistant resin overlay bonded to the wood using heat and pressure.

MDO is valued for its defect-free composition and highly uniform density, allowing it to be cut, routed, shaped, and drilled cleanly. It was originally developed for outdoor signage, and paint finishes applied to MDO are up to three times more durable than standard wood surfaces.

Note: MDO is not the same as MDF. MDF will not hold up to exterior weather conditions.

Each board is primed, painted, and finished with Varathane Spar Urethane sealer to ensure maximum UV protection against sun damage and weather exposure.
